Who operates this site

kna-group.com is operated by the firm that carries on business as KNA Group, from Ottawa, Ontario. On this page, “we”, “us” and “the firm” mean that firm, and “you” means anyone using the site.

Using the site means you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, do not use it.

What the site is

It describes what the firm does, how the work is run, and what a client receives. It is an invitation to have a conversation. It is not an offer capable of acceptance, it is not a price list, and nothing on it forms a contract between us.

Reading this site does not engage us

No professional relationship and no client relationship is created by reading these pages, by using anything published on them, or by sending an enquiry. The firm is engaged through a written engagement agreed by both sides. Until that exists, we owe you no professional duty and you should not proceed as though we do.

One practical consequence is worth stating plainly. Do not send confidential or sensitive company information in a first enquiry. Send enough to describe the situation. Anything sent before an engagement exists is not protected by one, and we may already be acting for a company whose interests conflict with yours.

Acceptable use

Use the site for lawful purposes. Do not attempt to gain unauthorised access to it or to anything behind it, do not interfere with its operation, do not automate requests at a rate that degrades it for other people, and do not present yourself as us or imply an association with the firm that does not exist.

The material published here

The text, structure, checklists, control matrices, close calendars, working paper indexes and sample deliverables on this site belong to the firm. They are how the work is actually done rather than generic marketing copy, which is precisely why they are worth publishing and precisely why they are not free to republish.

What you may do with them: read them, print them, use them inside your own company, and quote them with attribution and a link. That is what they are published for. If a close calendar here is better than yours, take it and use it.

What you may not do: republish them wholesale, sell them, redistribute them as a product, or present them as your own work or your own firm’s method. If you want to publish something from this site, ask first through the contact page, and the answer is usually yes.

Links to other sites

The site may link to material published elsewhere. Those destinations are not under our control. A link is a pointer, not an endorsement of the site, its operator, its accuracy or its own privacy practices, and we do not monitor what happens to a page after we link to it.

Availability and accuracy

The site is provided as it is. We do not promise that it will be available without interruption, that it will be free of error, or that a given page reflects the current state of accounting standards, tax rules or software.

Everything published here is accurate to the best of our knowledge as at the date shown on the page, and pages are not revised as the world moves. The disclaimer page sets out what the content is and is not, and of the two it is the more important one to read.

Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, or for lost profit, revenue or data, arising from your use of this site or from anything you did in reliance on it.

Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

Liability arising from an actual engagement is governed by that engagement’s own terms, not by this page. These terms cover a website, not professional work.

Changes to these terms

We may change these terms. The current version is the one on this page, and the date at the top is when it last changed. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the revised terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply in it. The courts of Ontario have jurisdiction over any dispute arising from the site, subject to any right you have under the law of your own province or country that cannot be contracted out of.
